I have noticed that there have not been any BeWoW prompts for a little while now. I like doing these posts as it is great to focus on something positive. Just writing a post focusing on the positive can lift the mood, as does reading them. So I have decided that today I am going to talk about something that makes me happy which is out very own blogging community.
For me, this has been one of the best things of all about blogging, The wonderful people that I have been able to interact with, some on a daily basis. There are still a few people that I have ‘met’ right at the beginning who I am still in regular contact with. It is fascinating to see how our respective blogs have changed and grown over that time, yet we still have that strong connection with each other.
I am privileged to have met so many people through WordPress that have taught me so much as well. I have some lovely new author friends, and have read a couple of books that I may not have been aware of if it wasn’t for my blog! I have got a few lined up as well to keep me going for a while.
I have been introduced to the haiku as well. There is a fantastic community that participate in the weekly challenge, and everyone is supportive, and kind. I love to see how everyone else interprets the prompt words each week, as much as I love to have a go at it myself!
There are poets, musicians, writers, story-tellers, people who are so creative and crafty, wonderful cooks and chefs, farmers, people who deal with mental illness sharing their triumphs and troubles, teachers. It’s like having a living encyclopaedia; if I want to know about something, I am pretty sure one of my blogging friends would have the answer!
I love the fact that due to the various time differences, there is always someone online, new posts to read, people to interact with, who offer support and encouragement! It is somewhere where someone like me, who is pretty awkward in social situations, feels like they belong and are accepted despite being a bit of a klutz!
Even tough we may never actually ‘meet’ how great to have met!

I enjoyed the esprit de blog from the outset of my blogathon, so it was with trepidation that I agreed to meet with three other bloggers and put flesh on the post. They were delightful. Since then I have met two others on separate occasions and now the ABBAs will I hope introduce me to another 15 or so more. You are right, Judy, very right.

Judy, I loved this post and completely agree with your sentiment. Thank you for articulating in such a lovely way what many of us feel. Blogging has been a wonderful opportunity in so many ways. Especially getting to know and forming friendships with wonderful and creative people like you! I feel fortunate to be a part of this special community, too. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. 😊

I suck at blogging. I’m not good with themes, widgets, and all things techie. I don’t post every day or even every week. I don’t have many followers.
So, why am I still here? Because of other bloggers. I’ve met some wonderful people. Because of bloggers, I start my day with a laugh. Because of bloggers, I know what the hell a Haiku is. Because of bloggers, I’m reading poetry without a teacher standing over me. Because of bloggers, I know that no matter what the news reports say, there are still a lot of nice people out there.
So, thanks to all of you who are so much better at this than I am. 🙂

Judy, it is great how you captured the magic of WordPress. Here we are free of politics, cultural and religious difficulties, geographic distances, and as you say even the time zone doesn’t matter. We have a gathering of like-minded souls who share their special skills and gifts. We learn about different cultures and countries. We meet people we would have never met without. We get inspired in a way we would never be inspired without this platform. The differences we share is what connects us. And I guess right this is what amazes us. And right this is what the world has to learn again. Here we start an example in that. That is why we all love this blog sphere so much!

Erika you have said much more, which I didn’t mention, but still believe. I love the fact that we all have different cultures, and beliefs, yet we are still like-minded!

I love your post because it is a wonderful complement to my post from Monday. I guess we all feel that but cannot always put it into words. You said it wonderful. And as I always say: We are one big family! We feel a connection by heart to people we have never seen, who share different habits and traditions, but we love them. That is in the small what we want in the world as major development: respect, tolerance, acceptance….. love!
