In The Future: What’s Next For Edwina’s Episodes?

Today is the last day of the Writing 101 course, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. Not just for the fact of learning some new ways of gaining inspiration that I never would have considered, but I also met some more wonderful bloggers, whose work I may not have found if it were not for this course. I have, of course, shared some of these blogs with you all so you can enjoy them as well.

Now comes the tricky part; What do I want the future to hold for my blog? Well, as I have mentioned, I signed up for NANoWriMo during November as I wanted to really challenge myself.(Actually, I think I have punched too far above my weight on this one. I can’t even understand how to use some of those ‘writer’s apps’ like ‘Scrivener’ or ‘YWriter’ so God knows how I am going to knock out 50 000 words in one month. Still. it wouldn’t be a challenge if it were to be too easy!

So, as a result of my overestimation of my abilities, my blog might be a little neglected during November, as I probably won’t get much time to do it! I will definitely be posting, but it may be a little sporadic, to say the least.

I thought that come December, I might want to slow down a bit on the blog anyway, but then I am not so sure. One of the biggest attractions about blogging for me is the interaction with other bloggers that I get on a daily basis. I will just have to see how that goes….

As far as my blog content goes, I will still be writing about the funny, the silly and the downright hilarious side of life; I would like to keep up my ‘Wacky word Wednesday’ but am running out of inspiration for that so might have to re-think that one, The Haiku challenges I take part in, I love and will keep on with those, as I will with the ‘Free-For-All Friday’ feature. I also enjoy Linda’s One-Liner Wednesday posts and have a go when I can, as I do with Ron’s (recently joined by Colleen) BeWoW posts.

So, that is my plan for my blog in the next year or so. I might get involved in other challenges along the way, or perhaps try to introduce a new feature on my blog, who knows? I never even expected my blog to last this long!  I don’t want to have too much structure to my blog as it takes away my freedom, and I like an element of surprise as well, so that a reader doesn’t always know what they are going to get when they come to my blog!

  1. I’m working on my second book and I’m lucky if I get out 500 words a day. NO way could I do NaNoWriMo but I wish you speedy thoughts and flying fingers :

    1. Well, I have taken the bull by the horns and signed up! Although I have a plot, I have never written anything ever apart from my blog, a few poems and of course, schoolwork in the past!!!

  3. You know we love you, and we’ll still be here post November. One of the problems (excuses) I had with nanowrimo was being a rookie Scrivener user. With hindsight I’d have stuck to word as I’d not had time to get familiar with it. Best wishes x

    1. Thanks so much Yvonne. I am probably just going to stick to Word as that is what I know best. I will have enough to worry about just writing it let alone faffing about with different and unfamiliar programmes!

  4. We bloggers can stress ourselves out SO much! You have to do what YOU have to do, and if writing is something you are passionate about then you go for it. I only post 4 days a week and it goes just fine. This daily posting nonsense is not necessary once you are an established blogger. And you can share some of your writing snippets with us! Have fun, this blogging stuff is still considered leisure!!

  7. Good luck with the challenge. I hope you enjoy it. Whatever you decide to do with your blog must be what works for you. I love the interaction side of blogging but I blog for me first readers second.

  11. Wait, who says you need to use Scrivener or that other one you mentioned to do NaNo? I did it with pen (actually several as they ran out) and paper one year. The hardest part was counting the words however. 😛 Oh and the writer’s cramp! Anyway, have they changed the rules?

    1. Well nobody said I had to use any of them but I was trying to be all organised and thought they would help!
      They don’t though if you have no idea how to use them! I shall just stick to typing it up on Word I think! 🙂 Thanks Linda , I appreciate your support. 🙂

      1. Ah, well then… Scrivener is great, but if you’re going to use it, get it and go through the tutorial before the first of November. It takes a while to get used to! Best of luck with your NaNo, Edwina! 😀

  13. It’s a matter of priority, Judy. I think that your energies allocated to your project is a good idea. I know that slowing down, or not blogging at all, has given me energy to do other things that were somewhat neglected. But, to be honest, the daily interaction with my blogging buddies is also missed. Somewhere there has to be a happy medium!!

  14. I always enjoy your posts, Judy. And you know why? Because you feel so real! No matter when you post. Better take it slow but keep up your way of posting. Happy to have you around. I often thought I had to step back a little… but then I even expanded my blog… lol
