I wasn’t sure what I was going to use today for TJ’s Household Challenge as ‘containers’ had so many possibilities.
Anyway, I have been on the lookout for a bag to keep my knitting in as a carrier bag is not the best receptacle! I was looking on Amazon to see how much they are and resented paying thirty quid for the bucket bag that I wanted.
However, I came across Craftsy Website where they had free tutorials on how to make one. Bonus! I had a few scraps of fabric leftover and gave it a whirl. I was really thrilled, as although I am not a great sewist (sewer looks wrong), I managed to make it, and I was more pleased as I have not felt like doing any sewing or anything for ages.
After all that rambling here is my haiku (and my bag)!
My new knitting bag –
A few hours, some old fabric
Was all it took!

How fun to make your own knitting bag. Sorry that you broke a needle in the process. I know how frustrating that can be. That happens to me when I’ve not checked the needle size before beginning to sew some fairly thick fabric. It is nice to have a new container for your knitting projects.

Yes, I was pleased with how the bag turned out. I didn’t consider the fact that the cord fabric is quite thick, especially with interfacing! 🙂

Well actually, it was a bit complicated for Judys too. What I didn’t mention was that I broke a sewing machine needle in the process! 🙂

I used to knit a little…scarves & hats mainly, and one vest. I haven’t knitted in years, but I did find it relaxing…at least when I wasn’t dropping stitches. Good luck with your project! 🙂

I have knitted jumpers, shawls, baby stuff, mittens and hats, all kinds of things realy. However, I haven’t done much for a long time. I am just dipping my toe in again 🙂

Yes, that is a wonderful feeling. Or when you have made something for someone else and you see them wearing it. Initted my sister a little shrug and she has worn that a few times 🙂
