Just Jot It January 4th – Dachshund

I have managed to stick with the prompts so far for Linda’s Just Jot It January challenge. Today’s however, is rather tricky as I do not have a dachshund, nor have I ever even met one!

Hmmm, I know, I will write a haiku about one!

Short legs, long body

Skilled in the art of hunting

Looks like a sausage!

      1. Ok, so I know I’m on a break, but comments have to be answered… And I shall be doing the challenges… I can’t keep away totally!!!

  1. I love what you did with this word, Judy. Bought a chuckle to me.
Toby often gets mistaken for a sausage dog. I don’t know why, other then it may have something to do with his short legs. Then again, I have short legs and I’ve never been called a sausage! 🙂

  2. There’s a peculiar sophistication in the look of a dachshund. Very good haiku, Judy! Especially considering that you don’t have that type of dog.

  3. Ha!ha!Love it. When in doubt Haiku! Not a bad rule for lots of situations!
I’ve known a few sausage dogs, some nice and some quite vicious and neurotic! It worries me what human selective breeding does to animals. Cute to look at though.
